Doctors and Dentists Review Body award for 2009-2010
31 March 2009
The Review Body recommended a base increase of 1.5 per cent to the national salary scales for doctors for 2009-10.
This covers junior doctors, staff and associate specialist grade
doctors, consultants and other salaried doctors including salaried GPs.
For independent contractor GPs the Review Body recommended
that the gross uplift to the GMS contract be 2.29%. The implications of
this for global sum per weighted patient, the value of a point under
the quality and outcomes framework, the prices of enhanced services and
the overall increase to global sum equivalent are all determined by a
negotiated formula and will be promulgated shortly. The supplement for
GP registrars entering training placements on or after 1 April 2009 was
reduced to 45 per cent.
London weighting will remain at £2,162 per year for doctors non-resident in hospital and £602 for residents.
